It's cold and your battery senses it!

It's winter, the temperatures are dropping and you notice that your phone's battery seems to be draining faster than normal. Don't worry, you're not the only one with this problem. Cold temperatures can indeed affect the performance of your phone's battery. Fortunately, there are some steps you can take to minimize the negative effects of cold on your phone battery.

1. Keep your phone warm

Keep your phone in a warm pocket or bag when you're outside. Try to reduce direct contact with cold air.

2. Use a case

Invest in a good case that protects your phone against cold temperatures (and against breaking if dropped). This keeps the battery temperature more constant.

3. Avoid extreme cold

Try not to use your phone in extremely cold conditions. If possible, keep your phone in a warmer environment.

4. Enable energy saving mode

Turn on energy saving mode to reduce energy consumption when temperatures drop.

5. Keep the software up to date

Make sure your phone always runs on the latest software. Manufacturers often release updates that can improve battery performance.

6. Bring a power bank

If you know you'll be in cold conditions for extended periods, consider bringing a power bank. Of course, don't forget to charge your power bank yourself.

7. New battery

Do the above tips no longer work? Then consider having your battery replaced. At BudgetFix we can measure the battery of your phone, provide non-binding advice and replace the battery for you. Please feel free to contact us.
